Local 393 - Responsive Website Upgrade

Posted On: October 24, 2016

Technology is rapidly changing and more so than ever, consumers are browsing the internet via their mobile devices. Whether it is a smart phone or tablet, desktop PCs are a thing of the past. Most smart phone users will still do research, shop and browse the internet from their mobile device even if they are home with a desktop accessible to them. While a desktop would appear more convenient given the bigger screen, nothing beats the ease of jumping from site to site or app to app than using a mobile device no matter where you are.

With Google's new updates, especially focused around their search engine optimization algorithms, it is imperative for websites to be mobile friendly. Google began implementing updates to their web-crawling algorithms and one of their updates focused on whether a site was mobile friendly or not. This update provided mobile friendly websites with better Google rankings when their site was searched from a mobile device. While not all companies have SEO services, although it is a must for all business owners, all sites were impacted when this algorithm launched.

Local 393 took our advice here at WebDugout and decided to update their site to mobile-friendly. As you can see, there is a drastic change from left to right. Their home page photos could not be viewed, you were unable to scroll up and down and could not access the entire site from the menu bar in the top right corner. Mobile friendly sites are received exponentially better than non-mobile friendly sites and help drive traffic to your site even without proper SEO. With how the world revolves around technology, don't get lost in the shuffle. Contact WebDugout today for one of our mobile friendly designs!

Gold Limo Before & After

Posted On: October 24, 2016

Goldcrest Limousine is a luxury transportation service, working throughout Long Island, Queens and New York City. Goldcrest holds themselves to the highest esteem and provides top of the line service as well as the most up-to-date vehicles on the market. They are the definition of a reputable company and have built their name through years of reliable and affordable service. There was one hurdle that Goldcrest had yet to jump however and that was a new website. Goldcrest was living in the stone age with their old website. They had a very narrow website, which is a design choice that is rapidly going out of style, especially with computer screens being made wider each year. What their previous website  also lacked, was the mobile friendly aspect. The overwhelming majority of consumers today are visiting websites via a mobile device and websites that are not mobile friendly are punished in their search engine rankings when using Google away from a desktop.

Goldcrest knew that to further bolster their outstanding reputation, they needed a website that fit their company's agenda - luxurious, reliable and affordable transportation for the Long Island and NYC area. WebDugout provided Goldcrest with an upgraded site design that can be seen below. Their new site is now mobile responsive, with a much wider display and a working slideshow. Your business should have a website that reflects who you are and Goldcrest now has a website that matches their reputation.

South Florida Shuttles Case Study

Posted On: May 18, 2016

South Florida Shuttles came to us here at WebDugout unhappy with their current web hosting. They wanted the ease of being able to log on whenever they needed to add, change or delete content. Under their current contract, they were unable to do that and would have to wait several days to weeks before the changes were made while still being billed. WebDugout was able to alleviate that hassle and give them full access to their site around the clock. The big thing for South Florida Shuttles was keeping their current web design as they really liked the layout of it.

That was no problem for our web specialists here and we were able to easily transfer their site over to our V5 Content Management System. Now, South Florida Shuttles was able to keep their original design that has generated large amounts of traffic AND are now able to access their site whenever they need to make a chance, without having to WAIT.
